Aaah my iPod is confusing me!
I connected it as usual, tried to sync it, and said there wasn't enough space available -- that I needed around 13 GBs left and I only had 9. This confused me, because I hadn't added anything large since my last sync, which was yesterday and worked perfectly.

I figured it could possibly be a glitch, so I just ejected it and tried plugging it in again. Now my iTunes freezes every time I plug it in until I eject my iPod, when it starts working perfectly again.

WHAT DO I DO??? I'm going crazy here, my iPod is my baby and I neeeed it to work, lol. PLEASE help me!!!

Edit: I FINALLY got my iPod to begin syncing earlier, but my iTunes froze in the middle so I ejected it, and the iPod froze on "Do not disconnect." I rebooted my iPod ad now it's frozen on the apple logo.

Edit again: The iPod's battery has died, so I plugged it in to the computer. I got the usual "Ipod Battery is very low" etc... and then the apple came on as if it was about to turn on & sync. However, it keeps going back to the "Please wait, very low battery," then back to the apple logo, etc. =/

Have you tried restarting the computer and then plugging it in opening iTunes and then resetting the iPod?

I can't reset the iPod once it's plugged in because iTunes automatically freezes.

I'll restart the computer, see what happens.

Restarted the computer, iTunes no longer freezes but the iPod doesn't show up or sync.

Then there's the option where you re-install the whole iTunes. Anywho if you got other computers at home with iTunes try to plugg it in there and sync with the music library there might for aswell..

(good thing with iPods they got a year guaranteen so you could turn it back to the store and get a new one)

If you re-install Itunes, you will not lose all of your music. I've done it many times.

Your music should be stored on your computer. Before uninstalling itunes go to Advances > Consolidate Library
Let it do it's thing, then you should be able to take all of your music and put it somewhere outside of the itunes folder(I'm not sure on a PC, it's probably under Programs or whatever, and then iTunes, and the Library, but it might be under Music if that's one of the folders that comes with windows; on a Mac it's Just Music>iTunes>iTunes Music) Then you can safely reinstall iTunes

try that. once it appears on iTunes again, I recommend using the option that allows you to reset the software. I can't be bothered checking the exact words for it.

-- Posted by xoxo1234 at 2:54 am on April 16, 2008

I just plugged it in again and it's synching. I really really hope it works... oh well, thanks to everyone who tried.

-- Posted by xoxo1234 at 7:53 am on April 16, 2008

Didn't work, points up for grabs once again.

-- Posted by Dont Tell at 10:07 am on April 16, 2008

If you can I'd suggest going to an apple story and talk to a "genius" (cof cof) and see what they say.

-- Posted by Tavis at 3:23 pm on April 16, 2008

My suggest is pointing a finger.

Phone apple. Ask them. And most likely, you can send it in and they will fix it for you for free or shipping only or something.

We aren't professionals.

And I'm not sure if you've just tried resetting the iPod by itself, if you can. Or if it detects, go 'Restore' on the device.

Aw man, and I wanted all those points too. :(

Sounds silly, but have you tried googling the problem? There is a plethora of very helpful web pages for very specific iPod problems such as your own. I know newer iPods don't come with a charger, but if you are that desperate to save your music, you could try looking for one on eBay and charging your iPod from the wall instead of your computer, which will try to synch it and do other shit instead of just charge it.

I can't. Apple only offers phone support to those with possession of an iPod purchased within 90 days.

Google hasn't come up with anything... and I definitely would if my iPod hadn't deleted everything on it when I unplugged it from iTunes that first time.

I seriously hate big companies. They won't offer help on thier own shitty product? Get fucked Apple.

-- Posted by blufindr at 12:56 pm on April 24, 2008

^amen. stick it to the man.

reset all of it. take your ipod to someone else's house and format the drive. then reinstall itunes and try to get your music back on it. i think there are other ipod-compatible synchronizers out there (mediamonkey, for example). goodluck! i had a similar problem with my iriver e10 and its company synchronizer, but unfortunately i'm stuck with that. fucking companies.
