If you could tell LiveWire what needs the most improvement, in terms of ease of use, what would it be?

And thanks for helping to make LiveWire better!

After you vote, reply and explain what's hard to use about that feature.

probabaly the image basket, like how you manage it and upload pics,  and put pictures on topics ect

Hmm...well if you're bored and need a project, make Image Baskets more 1337.

Otherwise?  Reduce the points received for responding to eHelps.  It's a ridonkulous number.

-- Posted by LadyPaiin at 9:01 pm on Aug. 28, 2007

Imagebasket probably.

-- Posted by visval11 at 9:01 pm on Aug. 28, 2007

I really don't find any of it difficult.

-- Posted by girl22 at 9:01 pm on Aug. 28, 2007

I so dislike the quizes

-- Posted by Malkariss at 9:01 pm on Aug. 28, 2007

It'd be nice to upload remote images, and upload more than one image at once.

-- Posted by tomatosoup at 9:02 pm on Aug. 28, 2007

Groups, defiantly. It's a very interactive part of Livewire and it needs the improvement it deserves.

Quizzes and Livecards? Pshhh.. Forget them.

-- Posted by hawkeye at 9:02 pm on Aug. 28, 2007

I'm gonna go with the image baskets though...it's a tad unorganized...even though it is organized. That doesn't make much sense, does it? Meh, it doesn't matter.

Quizzes. The answer choices never flow, ever. People make the answers flow with the previous question, but based on their own answer.

"Did you ever do so and so?"
"Why'd you do that, idiot?"

Things like that.

Image baskets are cool and all, but I don't agree it should be first on the priority list.

...Things on LiveWire are hard to use? *raise eyebrow*

Groups and My Posts are probably the most confusing.

-- Posted by EverythingUrNot at 9:04 pm on Aug. 28, 2007

I dont think anything is hard to use.

-- Posted by metacarPi at 9:04 pm on Aug. 28, 2007

Well it's all pretty easy but out of those choices i must admit that i have no idea how to go my way around contests and such=P

But otherwise, good job Mr.David =]

I agree.

It is all pretty easy to use.

But overall, i would have to say "my account".

Simply because it's annoying that i don't know where everything is. Like, i have been here a while now, and like, i am still finding out that you can find statistics and such.

Also, it's a good idea, but it's kind of annoying having to enter your password like, every time.

Thanks for trying to improve!

Deal with incompetent mods and SL's first.

There is really nothing on here that I would say is hard, but the entering of my password in my account is kinda annoying.

David,

To be honest, I spent some time trying to come up with something I thought was difficult to use, and I really couldn't come up with anything.  I think everything has been simplified to the fullest extent possible.

I was a new member here not so long ago, and I really had no issue at all with anything.  It was all extremely simple to me.

I would have to say a few of them are really close... so I will go from the toughest to whatever with explanation why;

1. Image baskets
I have seen so many posts in the Feedback forum about how people are having problems and what mods should do with their "crazy and ridiculous" decisions. I honestly think we should redo the FAQ for it and somehow make it a little easier to use. Maybe making the file size limit notice bigger or more noticeable? I just know something needs to be done about it. It's always the same questions and complaints...

2. My Account
I think it would be better if it was on the sidebar, only more noticeable than what it is now. Maybe even above the eHelp button in a different color, perhaps? Plus within the page itself, it would be much better if it was a little more organized and such. If I had just LW, it would seem like it would take me forever to get used to that page and what's on it, and all.

3. Quizzes
For some reason, I feel like it is dying out here on LW. I remember when I first joined LW, it was like the biggest thing to do on here. Now, it doesn't seem like anyone's interested in it anymore. Either make it more interesting for people to use (like find a way for people get points this way) or get rid of it all together.

4. LiveCards
Let's just say... I don't get it therefore I don't use it. *shrugs* I would read the FAQ on this but for some reason I don't want to waste my time as it really doesn't interest me that much at all.

I don't think anything is hard to use, but I'd like to see some updates with contests.  It seems like there is a better way to do them, though I'm not really sure how.

-- Posted by ixi at 9:58 pm on Aug. 28, 2007

I never hear about contests, ever.  Maybe it's just me though?

Quizzes also need a LOT of work, despite the efforts of every quiz manager.  The section really is dying =/

i don't think anything id  that hard to use.

-- Posted by hithere at 10:01 pm on Aug. 28, 2007

livecards.

the "livecard gallery" is really tiny, and the photo search is really limited and unhelpful. i basically stopped having livecard conversations with people because it was just too much work to find a good picture or even a specific picture i had seen before (which i eventually resorted to) to send.

also, i don't know why i have to enter their real name. and i hate having to uncheck the option for "send me a copy of this livecard" every single time.

-- Posted by dreamweaver at 10:02 pm on Aug. 28, 2007

Nothing really is that hard to use, but I really think some of it needs revised and updated.

Oooh, now there's a thought.  A flashy announcement for new contests perhaps?

Definitely one without sound or the blinking. That would drive me nuts!

I just had a good idea though. Instead of having contests announced on the sidebar (which is what I'm assuming Swifty was thinking), maybe we could have them on the same page as the inbox, above the messages and such? Everyone uses their inbox and it wouldn't crowd the sidebar at all.

The quizzes are the suckiest thing on here, and really difficult to use. Has anyone read the instructions for making a quiz? The tooltips below each field explaining what to put in each field suck, and badly. However...

The image basket is rather difficult to use as well. It's not hard, per se, but it could be easier. It could employ list views for mass action, instead of having to be viewing the picture itself before taking any action. What I mean is, you can leave everything the same, but add a list view where you can use checkboxes to select a group of pictures (cross album, perhaps?), then choose an action, such as transfer to album, delete, edit (one by one? all at once on the next screen? I dunno) similar to the messenger. This would make handling large numbers of images easier. But...

The groups are lacking too. They are good, sure, but they are basically a fancy whiteboard. Hard to read, odd scrolling from bottom to top instead of top to bottom (makes sense, but seems and always has seemed strange to me), no dividers between posts making it harder to read, and a simplified interface make groups one of the most underdeveloped aspects of LiveWire. They are great, don't get me wrong, but I think they should be a whole lot better for what you can do with them. They don't even have group alerts, for pete's sake. Get with the program.

I voted for image baskets, because this is the feature I would most like to see improved. Groups can wait, and quizzes seem pointless to me unless they were overhauled tenfold, and even still they don't seem to fit in as much. Images are grand, though, and I really like all the new features being unveiled with them, such as the automatically filler image-sans mod approval, and resizing to prevent page scrolling. Great job. Keep working on it -- please!
