I know there's been a topic like this before, but it's time for a new one. If you have a known disability, psychological disorder or disease, please share it with us. After all, there's so many of them these days, it's almost rare not to have one.. Please include a brief description of your disorder if you think others might not know about it.

I have a condition called TMJ in my jaw. It causes my jaw to crack and get really sore sometimes. It makes it so I can't eat for a few days each month. I have mild anxiety. I have an essential tremor in my hands which I got from my mom/grandma. This isn't a disorder, but I have loose ligaments which makes me double jointed and one of my front ribs is wavy due to this. But it doesn't harm me in any way. So yea. I don't really have anything serious.

I have symptoms of a lot of things. But, none of them have been diagnosed, so, as far as I know, I'm normal.

Yea same. Like, I had symptoms and low readings of a connective tissue disorder. That was scary...waiting for the results.

My turn. I have hyperhydrosis. It means I sweat excessively. I have also found that my skin doesn't hydrate properly, but I don't know if it's related to hyperhydrosis. When I get cold, my hands get really dry so that I have almost no moisture in my fingertips. You know how 'normal' people can touch a flat surface such as a desk with their fingertips and they don't slide very easily? I can't do that often. My hands and feet are always either super hydrated or super dry. No in between.

I was pretty screwed up when I was little, but now, I'm pretty much alright. I was born with Treacher Collins Syndrome. TCS is a cranio-facial disorder that causes bones in the face to be severely distorted or even missing. In my case, it just causes my eyes to slant and I have a small jaw. If you look it up, you'll most likely see pictures of people who have the worst cases. That's not my case. If you look in my IB, you'll see I pretty much look normal. Because of my TCS, I have major hearing loss in both ears. I was born with benign tumors in my thighs. I developed anemia and asthma as I got older, and I might have juvenile arthritis.

It may be a condition. I had frequent migraines and stomach pains. That and a lot of vomiting. Turns out I have abdominal migraines and cyclic vomiting.

Technically ODD and mild depression....although I personally think ODD is a bullshit "disorder" just like ADD and the likes.
-- Posted by Brookie Chookie23 at 2:54 am on Feb. 7, 2007
I don't think they're 'bullshit' disorders. I think the problem is that people think of the word 'disorder' as being something much worse than it really is. The reality is that disorders don't have to be life-threatening to be considered a disorder. They don't have to be physical, either. A disorder could have such little influence on your life that you can continue to lead a 'normal' life without worrying much about it, or it could be so serious that it practically controls your life.

Lupus Social Anxiety Disorder Post Traumatic Stress Disorder PTSD isn't really a problem anymore, though. I still have a couple triggers that can cause mild anxiety attacks, but that's pretty much it. SAD isn't nearly as much of a problem as it used to be, and I can interact fairly normally in most situations now, but I still have a lot to work on.
