I always feel kinda reluctant when it comes to making a call to a person I don't really know, and more over, if the call has to be in a foreign language. You understand what I mean? Now I have to make a call to a flight company and attempt my best British accent because I automatically do that for some reason... I seriously don't know why I am feeling so reluctant. It's weird for me to talk to someone I don't know and not see them... Edit: my accent is not fake. I'm not a native speaker and originally I have been taught to speak British English. I can do both American and British.

Don't do a fake accent. It will be obvious and they'll just think you're a weirdo.

what accent are you adopting? cockney? scoucer? geordie? cornish? Glasweigan? some British accents are pretty fucking hard to understand. I wouldn't worry about it.

me too, minus the accent part. I hate talking on the phone.

Just speak normally, accents just make you sound dumb if they're not your real ones...

It's weird that I adopt the whatever accent the person is talking to me. The people at that flight company speak British accent so when I received a call from there I automatically switched to British English too. That's the only reason.

Probably the typical posh completely fake "British accent"

come on, you're calling to somewhere between the Netherlands and Belgium, I bet they won't care much about a particular accent! ;)

Yea, the lady spoke quite a natural accent so I did my regular American. :)
