Do you think that the government tries to control our lives with some of its laws?

Could you give some examples?
I wouldn't like a government with no laws but some laws don't use any logic.. anyways, discuss.

There's a law in one state that all residents must own a rake

No, of course not.  Government?  Attempting to control the lives of citizens?  Crazy talk.

In PA you can't tattoo your face, in GA its illegal for a female to get genital piercings.  There's a law in the works to ban flavored cigarettes in the whole USA.  Until 2003 there were "sodomy" laws which made oral and anal sex illegal.

I try not to look at the world as 'us and them'.
But yes, there are some people who enjoy controlling others. Which is sad, because, they didn't get to that point themselves. It was helped by everyone, essentially.

Absolutely yes. Take any laws regarding taxation for an example.
