A lot of young pregnant girls don't make wise decisions surrounding their pregnancies. They opt to keep children for selfish and immature reasons when it's clear that they aren't fit to be mothers at that point in their life, even with 40 weeks to prepare for the role. In which case, I can understand the decision falling to the [grand]parents. They would likely be undertaking 95% of the work of their grandchild were it to be born (financially, daycare, shuttling mother/baby around to appointments, etc). I think that gives them the right to have a say, sometimes the ultimate say.
