So in August I'll be volunteering at a Children's hospital helping out on the PICU floor and helping out kids who have cancer and need wigs. My question for you is, do you have any advice or can you tell what to expect etc?

I don't think you will know what to expect until you get there. Just keep your heart open and show the same love and support to every person you meet. They've probably gone through a really rough time, and what they need is someone who is understanding and someone who offers unconditional support and encouragement. But not to forget, they want to be treated like everyone else. They don't want to feel like they stand out or are different.
(: Good luck, I'm sure you'll have a great time.

don't take that stuff home with you. the ultimate goal is to not get attached while still appearing as though you care. I used to frequent the hospital for sick children in D.C. and it was depressing
