My grandma said that my boss is going to fire because I got another job. All my boss said to me is that is going to be a problem because the busiest time is when we switch from one sale week to the next. So, I called and told the lady who hire me I can work Tuesday, Wednesday, & Saturday instead of Thurs-Saturday like I originally planned. The other part-time people can't work Fridays and Saturdays and I usually do work them days. I don't see why I would get fired and my grandma said I shouldn't have told her.

I'm a bit confused about the circumstance. Are you saying that you can't work the shifts you were originally hired for? If you can't work the shifts they want you to work, it would be more to their benefit to get rid of you and hire someone that can work the shifts that they want. It just depends on your schedule... as long as you aren't scheduling yourself on days you had left open for your first job, then you shouldn't be losing it, since they would have no reason of knowing. But if you've changed your shifts or requested less time or different days, then there's a chance they may not want you around. But I'm not sure... just my thoughts.

Maybe you didn't clear it with your current boss beforehand, or far enough ahead of time. I've missed out on a lot of second job opportunities because of scheduling conflicts with my current job, but I had to make that one my priority since it was where I was working and collecting paychecks at the time. But, you know, you've got to be honest with these people, if you need more money and another job, well, then you should tell them.
