-- Posted by Chiefette at 3:50 pm on July 2, 2009 First off a little background.  I work two jobs.  One full time, around 45 hours per week.  The second one, I work about 8-15 hours per week.  I have been there for 2 years and I work my ass off.  I am second in line to become a lead.  We were recently given a lead.  He has been fired from this place twice for two very serious offenses and was rehired 6 months ago, for a total time served of 9 months.  He is no more medically trained than I am, and I have obviously been there longer with no write ups etc.   We have not had a lead since October when our supervisor left.  He was demoted because they said that they didn't need a lead.  He worked every holiday special event etc.  It was required that every EMT on staff work 4th of July.  That meant 6-9 working that day.  This coming 4th there will only be 2 of us working, and the lead will not be one of us.  He stated that he didn't feel like working.  Every other person was given permission to take the day off, even though it is supposed to be a mandatory day.   We will be working a 15 hour day atleast with no help.  There are two parks which are supposed to have 3-5 people each.   This is bullshit.  If I didn't need the extra money I would leave them in a heart beat.  I am one of the only two that works weekends and if I quit they would be so screwed.  The two who have seniority are being walked right over and it is getting old.  I know the lead wants us gone.  He has been trying to get us fired since he got rehired, but he has no grounds to fire us so he makes sure life is hell for us there.   People suck
