yeah it kinda weirds me out, when my bf of after knowing him for like 6 years cried i didnt even know what to do

Here is your first decent response. Merely asking why us, guys, cry... you're asking for a lot of shallow posts. Said.

The past has a lot to do with what makes guys cry. I personally only know 1 or 2 girls that have ever seen me cry. Always relating to a fear, anxiety, or a memory of the past; usually not a very good one. He also may have been holding back tears for a while, or just sheds them when you're not around.

But then again... you've said nothing about what you and your bf we're talking about. Or what the mood was. Or where you guys are at in your relationship, etc...  So that's the best I can do 4 you, 4 now..

Humans.

We're suppose to cry.  I greatly wish I could cry, but I have a mental block. Simply because I learned from the "Great Double Standard" of society that men "aren't suppose to cry," I bottled everything up for years until it broke through into something nasty that nearly cost me my life.

Humans are meant to express emotions; the root word emote means "to release."  It's psychologically unhealthy to do otherwise, and it always comes out in some way, shape or form later on.  You have to channel it into something healthy, like crying if you're sad, or a paint-balling if you're mad.

Now stop perpetuating the Great Double Standard, you self-righteous, half-wit, black & white worldview, idiot.
