-- Posted by i love foamy at 6:04 am on Jan. 5, 2009 I was just thinking back to my childhood. I have this sneaky suspicion that I've been depressed way before i was diagnosed. Anyways i was thinking about all the countless nights i spent crying in my room since i was 10 and i remembered some stuff. I remember that i used to hit myself alot. Like run into furniture. Some of it was cause i was sad and punishing myself, some of it was cause my brother used to beat me so i would hurt myself to show my parents. Anyways i also remembered that i used to try and suffocate myself. I think i used to cry into my pillow and repeat that i wanted to die, that i don't want to live anymore. Well thats one of the memories. I used to try and smother myself with a pillow or hold my breath till i died. Obviously didn't work. So my question is that even though i was around 10 at the time when that all started is that counted as suicide attempts. I wasn't sure if there is like an age limit or something. I'm also assuming that my hitting myself was self harm. But yeah i wasn't sure about the age. Like how some mental diseases cant be diagnosed untill your over a certain age. Anyone know?
