i don't belong to anything and to quote sir winston churchill: We have our own dream and our own task. We are with Europe, but not of it. We are linked but not combined. We are interested and associated but not absorbed.

I was born in New York, but both my parents were born in the Dominican Republic. I don't look American. But I guess I am.

yeah but New Zealand isn't part of Australia. I see what you mean, but it can also be translated into my example with Tasmania. It's a pity though, that South American's aren't considered Americans.

how is it a pity. s.a is not in the usa, is not ran by their government and has essentially nothing to do with it. its an entirely different continent. and whos to say they want to be called american?

But listen its imperialistic to call them Americans. It donates to the ideal of the United States controlling America.
