My natural hair is medium brown and I told her I wanted her to dye it dark ash blonde. Well she made my hair fucking ORANGE. The one colour that I would NEVER dye my hair is orange. So I started to cry and she told me she'd "tone it down" so she put all this toner shit in my hair. Well my hair was still orange.. So today I went there again and she said she'd put this stuff in my hair that would take out the orange tones in it. Now it is a little better, but still orangey. Everytime I look in the mirror I start crying. I don't just dislike it, I hate it. My eyebrows are pretty dark so that just makes it even worse. The reason I wanted to dye my hair ASH blonde is cause it goes with my eyebrows. I have honestly never felt this ugly before. My hairdresser said my hair will always go orange when I try to lighten it up. Then how the fuck can all the celebrities out there go from like, black to blonde hair?

You sound rather emotional. Might I suggest a nice cup of tea?

celebs have people work on it for a day or two and it will fade to an ash blonde after a bit

It's simple
KILL HER

Get over it and get a new hairdresser then.
Disaster? I KNOW. But it'll grow.

because they have tons of cash...
but i'm sure you can find a hair dresser that will do a better job, it will just take longer and be more damaging.

they do it like, overnight.
and they pay hundreds of dollars.

Because they have lots of money and really good hairdressers. And wow that sucks, even I can dye my hair blonde without getting any orange tones. Maybe you should just dye it back to the brown instead of trying to tone out the blonde forever because that damages it.

iv never seen some1 go from black to blonde... im sorry but iv always seen it go orange... many have tried... trust me i dyed my hair black again lmao

Oh and to go to black to blonde you have to keep bleaching it untill the orange comes out..basically. Well if you want it platimum..which you don't...so i don't know why i'm even bothering telling you this.

Have her strip your hair of all color, than re-dye it.

Yeah, your hairdresser is an idiot. She should have told you that it wasnt possible for you to go from a brown to blonde like that without it turning orange or frying the shit out of your hair. You have to do it in steps and you have to use bleach. I suggest dying it back a (light) brown and wait if your hair is fryed at all til it's repaired and go somewhere where they know what they're doing. I'm sorry too! I know how bad it sucks to have orange hair. It's terrible and i have cried too.

your hairdresser sounds really unprofessional

-- Posted by exxys at 7:30 pm on Aug. 21, 2008

Go somewhere different!  Or just wash your hair until the colour fades slightly.

lol

if you dont mind going dark, then you could always go black.
that would be simple and easy.

i'd suggest going to another hair dresser next time though.

I have medium brown hair as well and I have been putting blonde highlights in my hair for years. It's true, I have a few coppery/gold bits where the blonde hasn't quite taken to the hair but it is mostly blonde, sometimes if I don't dye it for ages or if I don't look after it, it will go gold again. However, I think you may have just picked a shit hairdresser. Going to blonde is doable but it does take alot of money - my foils cost $150 for a whole head, plus going blonde you have to spend extra money on treatments, toning, shampoo etc. If your hairdresser didn't think going blonde was doable for you, she should have said so, or at least warned you what the outcome might have been. I think she just did a shit job, you need to find a good hairdresser. I have visited several hairdressers who all died my hair various shades of blonde- some highlighter yellow, some orange and now finally have found someone who can do a good job. Ask your friends where they go, or ask people for recomendations.
