Ever kill a scorpion? Cockroach? I don't see how it's any different than abortion. I bet you don't even think twice about it? So why is it so wrong to abort an undeveloped baby? After all, just as a bug, it's defenseless.

Just because a baby is one of our own does not mean we must "protect" it. After all, I don't see many people protecting bugs.

Discuss...

I think it mostly has to do with religion.

-- Posted by ellex4xlove at 10:24 pm on July 16, 2008

That's because a bug isn't my child.
Abortion is murder.

wtf its a living breathing huma..... what if your momma decided you didnt need to live?

-- Posted by Googoie at 10:24 pm on July 16, 2008

No, living in Michigan, I have not killed a scorpion.

-- Posted by plumc0la at 10:25 pm on July 16, 2008

I see a strong point here...

I have always though the human race selfish for being so protective of our own species, yet we treat other species like dirt.

It's quite sad.

Thank you.

-- Posted by iwashere85 at 10:25 pm on July 16, 2008

A scorpion can live though, right?
So can a cockroach.

A baby 0-2 months into the pregnancy cannot live outside of the mother.

-- Posted by 4est at 10:25 pm on July 16, 2008

Personally, I don't think twice about abortion.

-- Posted by WonderChick16 at 10:25 pm on July 16, 2008

A baby, for one, is different from both a roach and a scorpion. For another, i just believe that abortion is wrong; however, the woman should be able to choose because it is, afterall, her body and her life, not ours.

This is wrong. Zygotes nor fetuses breathe.

No, not quite. It has to do with morals.
And I have to agree with Neo, the fetus has no idea what's going on, and it really doesn't care what happens to it, so if it's better for the parents to not have it, then there you go.

-- Posted by chasingclouds at 10:26 pm on July 16, 2008

a human life is so much more sacred than a simple bug. that's my opinion.

technically if your going form the bibles point. Abortion is NOT murder.  the baby is not technically human until it's born and actually takes it's first breath out side the mother.  so in a way yeah abortion is like killing a bug.

well its a baby. by the time you know your pregnat it has a heart thats beating its developing eyes nose mouth and ears. and it has fingernails!(yes i watched juno lol) just because something is defensless DOESNT give you the right to kill it. i mean if abortions continue to increase then the population is going to go down. plus its murderD=

Morals are subjective, and the ones that can be used against abortion usually come from a religious standpoint.

NO offence but that's really mean. I just can't believe people actually think that. I mean it's a baby and if you can't have sex without getting pregger than just don't have it. I mean wow it's really hard to think,Do I want to have fun tonight and kill a baby or hmmm . . .let me see try to be carefule.

Juno made you stupid, fetuses don't get fingernails until the 17th week.

I know that a lot of religious people are pro-life, but I know a lot of atheist/agnostics who are as well.

ACTUALLY, according to the Bible, yes, a fetus is human. If it wasn't, then it wouldn't say "Even from the moment my mother conceived me I was sinful." And makes references to children within the womb. So that means the Bible considers unborn children from conception as human, if they are capable of sin even then. So abortion kills a human, and to kill a human is murder.

So your argument fails here.

Hence the word 'usually'
Also, take the intellectual test, I doubt you'll fail it's easy as a prostitute.

Ever consider the possibility your both right? It's a known fact that the bible frequently contradicts itself.

Pro-choice.

It's up to the woman, and how it would affect her life, since it's her body. When you have an abortion, the baby is nothing. I know, it has a heart and everything, but it's not developed yet at all. I personally don't find anything morally wrong with it, but being a girl myself, I know it would be a difficult thing to do.

I took the test but I didn't know what I was supposed to write in the essay, so I failed hard
Thanks though

Its all about convenience, along with everything else in this warped little world.

Personal preference is how it should work, its your body, if you don't want a baby growing inside you, you don't have to have a baby growing inside of you.

It really is that simple.

No prat in a dress with a cross on a stick should be able to tell you otherwise.
