i've gone twice this year to the hospital for bad constipation, they had to insert stuff down there cuz the poop was stuck at the very bottom of my anus. i got a hemorrhoid from that. people told me to eat more veggies and fruits, so ive been doing just that, but i noticed that ive been even more constipated since i been eating a salad a day. how is this possible? im eating healthier, yet im more constipated. i dont wanna rely on laxatives forever, i heard they are bad to take often and im scared of the damage they can cause me. also, my hemorrhoid doesent hurt but its been bleeding alot since ive been more constipated lately. this is very imbarrassing, i dont wanna keep going to the ER cuz my poop is stuck down there again, i heard enemas can help, im considering buying one, im just really imbarrassed :'-[ plz help, im too young to go through this, all doctors do is preescribe me laxatives and tell me to eat healthier which i have been, but some how vegies are making me worse, why is this? thanks.

You need laxatives and if they aren't working as well as u'd like they need to be increased. It really does help.

That's a terrible idea. He/she will have to become more and more dependent on laxatives which is not good for your body.

the laxatives work fine, i usually take miralax which isnt as strong, but i agree with you, i dont wanna become dependent on them.

Yeah, it's better to find out what exactly is causing your problem. That way, you don't have to worry about taking laxatives. :D

Are you on any sort of medication like pain killers?

Look on this page : http://digestive.niddk.nih.gov/ddiseases/pubs/constipation/

You might find some useful information there. Talk to a specialist about what is going on. It might be more than just "you're not eating the right foods".

thanx for replying, i will take a look at the site. i take anti acids evryday for my acid reflux. sometimes i take excedrin or acetomenophen or vicodin for my migraines, last night i took vicodin and excedrin for migraines, i took anoths excedrin just now cuz im getting another one :-[ what kind of specialist can i talk to? regular doctors dont listen to me.

Yeah pain medication can cause constipation ,especially since you're taking that much. I don't know the proper term, but maybe a doctor that specializes in the colon? He/she could maybe find out what is the root of your problem, and if it's the medication, maybe recommend something else.
