No.
dead wrong!
The mole can be cancerous. It does not become cancerous by you picking it. Picking a scab =/= cells mutating. Idiot.
kepp picking your mole=idiot! |

| Irritation does do odd things to cells, however. |

chronic picking or scratching=irritation!
So by that logic, somebody could get cancer by scratching at bug bites or poison ivy rashes. Bullshit. You get skin cancer either randomly for no reason or from damage caused by some form of radiation, most likely UV. |

Sounds like an old wive's tale to me.
no it isn't, chronic irritation of skin and moles can cause cancer!
That would have to be irritation for a very, very long time. If you scratch it pretty much non-stop for months the plasticity of the cells would change dramatically and yes, a precursor to cancer might form. |

anyone with a brain knows that a mole that is irritated by anything over a long period of time, can become malignant!
Anyone with a brain can make something up to seem like they're correct. Come back when you have documented sources. |

No. That's absolutely ridiculous. The only time you can get cancer from a mole is if it's already a cancerous mole.
..you know little!
No, you're the one who is incorrect. What are your sources?
anyone with a brain knows that a mole that is irritated by anything over a long period of time, can become malignant!
Which means that you have no legitimate sources. It's a huge myth. Ask any dermatologist or check the American Academy of Dermatology. |

I doubt mechanical stimulation constitutes "chronic irritation." That would be some like, oh I don't know, UV radiation.

| No. That's absolutely ridiculous. You should only be worried about moles if they change shape, colour, are bigger in diameter than a pencil eraser or if the edges are bumpy or jagged instead of smooth. However, if you don't protect your skin in the sun, you should get your moles checked once a year by a dermatologist, just in case. |
