Intent: The contest is to capture some sort of humanity. Obviously this means it would be best if some physical human element is in the photo. If you don't have part of a human in there, you should probably explain a bit as to what you were going for. I don't care what emotion you're trying to show, as long as you get one. Albeit, I don't want to see 500 pictures of smiling faces. That's not what I'm looking for.
THE END OF THIS CONTEST IS YET TO BE SET It will end when I feel it is appropriate, likely within two-three months to allow adequate time for those making difficulte entries. PM me if you are working on something and feel that you cannot make it within that time frame.
Most importantly, THE PIECE MUST BE YOUR OWN WORK. The following would constitute as your own work: For Photos- 1) You have taken the photo. 2) You are the subject of a photo that was your concept. For All Other Mediums- You are the one who has produced the piece. You may reproduce a famous artwork, or use a photograph taken by somebody else. If you reproduce a work or use another's photograph, you must cite it using the same format as one of the following: Original (painting) done by (Andrew Wyeth.) Original (photo) by (Andy Warhol.) Original photo by (my friend.) Anything in parenthesis would be changed to fit the piece.
iBritt and Orange Joy will be judging with me. No more extra judges will be accepted.
Please keep in mind that these photos weren't necessarily the best photos, but were the ones that best presented what I was looking for.

I messed around with the contrast in Photoshop. I'm still not sure if I like it.
I love this one. It looks like a film still.

And then one of my niece. She's always very enthusiastic and this pic shows it so well;
Enjoy! :)
I can show it now.
I thought the look of desperation on her face, with all these people whizzing by, looked really poignant. Hard to explain but it's kind of like life. That's what it reminded me of. Everything going by so fast and we are just one person stuck in the middle of it, desperate to hold onto anything that means something.
The Innocence of Childhood
I entered this because she had fallen asleep at church. She just looked so innocent, and naive. I would have really liked to have taken a picture of children palying or something, but since it's winter, it's not the easiest time. This photo represents the innocence that all of us are missing in our lives. That's why this photo is my entry.
Last one represents progress of mankind. You can see our past in us
I love this picture. Whoever took it did an amazing job. The focus and lack thereof contrast between the main point of the picture (the people) and the background (the trees) makes this picture awesome.
Kudos to your friend.
Its of my best friend and her boyfriend.
