I just went today to get my tongue pierced and have a few questions from others who have theirs done.  First, I know you aren't supposed to eat solid foods for a few days of getting it done, but what would happen if I had like rice or something like that...not like steak or anything like that.  Would that hurt it?  Also, is the swelling still kinda bad on the third day or does it start goin down after that.  I only ask because I go back to work in three days, and I'll at least want to be able to talk properly cause I surely can't now.

Thanks!

It took a week for me to talk properly...I ate solid foods, only cause I don't like soups or anything like that.

...it was very difficult though, if you do eat solid food, expect to bite on the tongue bar, which is quite painful.

You should be ok with rice, it might catch a bit and be sore, but it shouldn't hurt too much. Eat a little at a time and it'll be fine.

I found eating ice cream and cold stuff helps to reduce the swelling quicker, though you should be fine on the third day in regards to being able to talk and stuff, you'll still notice it being swollen though.

i couldn't eat solid food for a week or so. i would stick to soup or yogurt or something. everyone's different with the swelling. mine took forever to heal. my friend's took like, two days to stop swelling.
