I work at McDonald's. Say I'm scheduled to start a 3. I get there at 3 and go to clock in and they won't let me and make me wait until 4 to clock in. Is that legal? I mean it is one thing to send you home early, but to do what they did to me is basically stealing 7 bucks from me. And if you live far away, your basically stuck sitting there for an hour.

Macdonalds likes fucking people over because most of the people who work there are too stupid to know what's going on.

Depending on your state, they cannot legally change your shift without a 24 hour notice. Also, they cannot make you work while off the clock.

If you're actually scheduled to work at 3... I don't see how they can suddenly change that and not let you start until 4...

I mean, I don't know specific legalities, but that really doesn't make sense to me.  Especially if you showed up for your shift and no one informed you otherwise...

Is there any chance that you misunderstood the schedule, and you were actually scheduled to start at 4 instead?

Are they making you work during that hour?
eklipse Posted at 10:31 am on July 4, 2009
I don't think it is illegal unless they made you work while off the clock.
