Okay.. I had a curved gauge with spikes on both ends going through both holes in both ears. I lost one spike to the one in my left ear. So... I put a bar in it. Through both holes.. it's a bigger gauge and it hurt for a little bit when I did it, but it's fucking awesome now..

i had to take mine out D: i had my second holes gauged.
that's awesome though.  good luck stretching.  it's a bitch.
