is when I call up people (its my job)

And ask for example Mr Ben.

And his wife is like "Who is it?"

So I tell her, but we can't like say where we're calling from.

And then she's all like "He's not in and he doens't want your call"

How the FUCK do you know that?

Seriously.
If anyone told someone I didn't want there call i'd be so pissed.

I asked for HIM. Not you ¬_¬

it's not hard to tell when someone is calling from a call center.

 1) nobody asks for Mr _____ or Ms _____
 2) Block Number on caller ID
 3) you don't realize it, but most likely there is background noise from the work place and/or delay

I never said it wasn't hard to tell :P

It's just annoying that they ASSUME things for their partner/husband/fuck buddy.

Trust me, nobody wants to talk to you. Some people just feel bad.
libertine Posted at 3:37 pm on July 3, 2009
what i'd do is press the thing on the phone to end the call, then just yell "you cunt" down the receiver.

My cousin had a telemarketing job for a while and said it was awful. You must get such angry people on the phone.

It's market research, not telemarketing.

Someone told this lass she was worthless scum, had no point in life and that she was a waste of space.

She ended up crying.

Hearing continuous swearing, shouting and people putting the phone down on you, when you don't want anything apart from opinions and views, gets quite upsetting.

I can imagine it would be annoying, but all you can do is laugh. Just think how much your calls are annoying them. I don't think I'd ever have the patience to do that, I'd probably get sacked for having a go at them back.

well yeah, that's harsh and that's why I was calling it a shitty job, not to insult the people that are doing it.

but to get annoyed at the people who aren't that harsh but just don't want to do the research and know their spouses well enough to be able to say on their behalf that they don't want to do market research is a bit silly.

We call them back anyway :P

We can't say they don't want to do it unles we here from the respondant.

It's stupid when it helps them in the long run anyway.

well fine, you're not selling you're just doing market research for a company. The point still stands that they know they are unsolicited phone calls and thus of no use to their wife/husband/parents, whatever.
The company clearly knows this which is why they don't let you tell them where you're caling from or they'd just hang up.

It's against our code of conduct to tell anyone apart from the respondant where we're calling from. We can tell them the market research company but like not that we're calling on behalf of like n power.

And it's all customers from the companies, so like we're not calling someone from british gas if we're doing n-power research... if that makes sense.

So it does kinda have a lot to do with them :P

Oh, you're a telemarketer. Well then, I wish you nothing but the best.

By the best I mean swine flu.

No. I'm not a telemarketer.

I do surveys.

Like if there's been a lot of complaints, we'll do a survey and try and make things within that company better ¬_¬

you're a telemarketer aren't you. they know that too, and they know that their partner probably doesn't need double glazing or whatever you're selling.

zenith fucking windows would almost literally pounce on students in the street to try to sign them up for these shitty telemarketing jobs. thank god i had a better one

We don't sell ANYTHING.
I hate those calls, we do surveys. Like really quick ones, nothing that would put an indent in someones busy schedule.

they know you're a call company, I HATE your calls, I normally just say you can fucking take my number off the lists and never fucking call me again :) it must make your day

I hate you kind of people :)

We do 5 minute surveys, on stuff that actually helps you.

Seriously I did the same thing as you, but hearing it like 5 times an hour, just makes you feel so unimportant and pathetic.

She probably knows that he doesn't want to talk with a telemarketer. Or anyone similar to that, where employees have to call people, etc. I don't think it's a personal thing, lol.
