So My mad adulthood skills kicked in, and I was sucessful in getting the right apartment, and got written confirmation from the office that they would pay for the added fees from the electric and gas company for the trouble, and that they would pay my power for the next 4 days till it gets turned on in my name (stupid 4th of July).
i'm glad they failed in pulling the okeydoke on you carie that shit happens all the time and i'm glad you busted these fools out for doing it to you |

| Landlords do this bullshit all the time. Never take their word unless it's in paper. Any model of the apartment you are shown will always be a hundred times better than the one you will actually move into. Call me cynical, but anything that sounds great is more than likely too good to be true. If I were you, I'd be taking pictures of the entire apartment before you actually move in, specifically where the holes in the wall are, how dirty that carpet is, etc. Because if you don't, you can be sure your landlord will be keeping your damage deposit by saying you left with a dirty rug and a hole in the wall. With those pictures, you could at least dispute it by showing that this was the condition of the apartment before you moved in. Do you ever check out apartment ratings? I've found that place to give a fairly decent account of the apartments in my area, specifically on how the management of the complex is. I'd generally take good reviews there with a grain of salt (as often times apartment managers forge their own reviews to get their ratings up), but you can take bad reviews to be more or less true. Simply size up all the bad reviews and figure out whether or not it's something you can deal with. If there isn't that many bad reviews lately, it's probably more or less okay. You may have screwed up now, but you can learn from it and not have to screw up in the future. You simply just need to know what you're doing and you'll be all right. Nothing will ever be perfect so try not to come into those places with that attitude and try not to beat yourself up when you did something wrong. |

:( I'm so sorry. That sucks big time. There's not anything you can do to change it? Did you tell them that this is not the right apartment? I mean this is their mess-up...they should at least do something.
I am trying to fix it all now. which means leaving work early. sigh. oh well. I am off to fix it.
good, because that's definitely a mix up on their part. They should give you that other apt. with some kind of deal etc |

| Aw, Carie! I am so sorry. This is terrible. If anything, you don't deserve it at all. Just keep your head held high and I know you will push through and become triumphant. Hell, this apartment might suck completely. Try to look at the positives about it. It there anything you can do to complain? :/ |

| Those bastards! It doesn't make sense that they would deceive you like that. I would take this experience as a lesson though. Makedamnsure you have things completely worked out and everything is understood. Make sure you can trust the people also. |

Can I move in too? I live in a flat
I dunno, because if my parents found *you* without me to vouch for you ...well... you may be in danger. My mother is a vengeful person.
