girls who wont go out with you because of that are shallow.
if your a nice person you have nothing to worry about.
head held up high :)

Work on your confidence. Don't "blame" (lack of a better word) women for not being able to get them because of lack of confidence.

I know you have a disability and everything, but I treat people with them as I would with people without disabilities. If you didn't have the brace, you probably wouldn't get a girl anyway with your lack of confidence.

if it was a long term injury from a sport it would actually attract me. but if it was because of some sort of natural cause which prevents you from doing alot of physical activity, i would be turned off because i wouldnt be able to be with someone who could not keep up with me.

One of my friends wears a leg brace on occasion. she has a disease in her nerves (it had a really long, hard to spell name, so, yeah, lol) that makes it almost impossible to feel anything from her knees down. that, combined with an old injury, causes her to walk with a pronounced limp on a good day. some days, she's in her brace or even a wheel chair because she's having difficulties. but nobody treats her any different for it.

I know so many wonderful people in wheelchairs, and lots of people with things like cerebral palsy, autism, and down syndrome. they're some of the coolest people I've ever met. But the thing they all have in common is that they don't act like they're disabled. They act like anyone else would, and as a result, people don't treat them like they're broken or like something's wrong with them. That, I think, would be my advice. Don't give them any reason to think that something's wrong with you just because you happen to be different. Just be yourself, and ignore the people who can't handle it. They're not the type of people you'd want for friends anyway.

(by my answer, I hope you gathered that disabilities really don't bother me. people are people, and being different doesn't make them less of a person.)

I honestly don't think it would, and I can be pretty shallow at times.

I'm a girl and I wear them to walk only. I'm supposed to weart them all the time but don't like to wear them cause they show bad.

Most of the people stare at things that are not common, strange. I understand why it makes you uncomfortable and unconfined, but understand them, they don't want to hurt you or make you feel bad, as a matter of fact most of them are not even sorry for you, they don't care, they just look at you as a subject to observe.

I don't believe that the lag brace itself would prevent you form getting a girl (well shallow and stupid maybe, but you don't need a girl like that anyway, trust me). What would prevent you from getting a girl is your self confidence. You need a good confidence boost!

Everybody here knows the answers that they should give, and they're certainly giving them. I'd be interested to see whether you guys would follow through on your words if you were ever put in such a situation. Considering the experiences that the OP is going through I doubt that that's the case. The sad truth is that, when it comes to finding a partner, people are adverse to anything they perceive as any kind of disability or impairment. It's not right but it's just a fact of life.

the only reason a leg brace would stop girls from wanting to date you is if they're shallow, and you don't want girls like that anyway.

This ^

A leg brace definitely wouldn't hinder me from approaching/talking to a guy; it just seems like you're surrounded by shallow, overly-judgemental girls. A female friend of mine is an amputee, missing an entire foot, and she's been in an amazing relationship for several years! In comparison, a leg brace is really nothing.

I know what u mean. I had hearing aids and I felt the same way about them like people don't give you the time of day when u want to date like the rest of the world. So my answer is no it wouldn't stop me from dating a guy. Ever!you have to get to know the person first in every case

I have a leg brace that i need to wear in order to walk from the knee down. i always try to ignore it and pretend its not a big deal but it is. it doesnt make me confident. i feel like i cant ever get a girl because of it and i dont want them to feel sorry for me.

even in junior college i get stares all the time whenever i wear shorts. why is it such a big deal?

would a leg brace on a guy prevent you girls from wanting to date them? Please be honest?

Theres nothing i cant do. I take it off when i swim, sleep, ect... i just need it to walk cause i cant put any pressure on it otherwise.

would a leg brace on a guy prevent you girls from wanting to date them? Please be honest? The leg functions fine, i just need a brace to walk... and my foot is a little smaller than the other one (not noticeable when i wear shoes and the brace)...

how can i get confidence with ladies with this? obviously i have been teased alot as a kid... and my true friends seem to ignore it and not care.. but i have a hard time meeting people because i get tired of explaining the same story of what happned... over and over. every person i see has to ask.

so i know the paragraphs are messy and theres lots of questions throughout.. but i really appreciate it if you would take the time to answer them.

He should come and say 'Hi'. Then he should just be himself.. He should be confident.. Introduce himself.. Maybe have a sense of humour.. Talk to me a bit so that we can get to know eachother.. And ask me if I'll go somewhere nice with him.. Oh yeah, also I like it if he'll just give me his number, just in case, you know.."

DO THAT

It wouldn't bother me one bit.  If I really liked someone, it wouldn't matter to me at all.  In fact I'd find it kind of sexy like a fetish.
