Plants are living things as you should know.  Living things respond to stimuli such as water, temperature, humidity etc. Music is a stimuli, a sound stimuli. I think Plants will be affected by music! Furthermore I think some music may have an effect on plants vigor and growth. I am sure that some music will make plants healthier and grow more vigorously. They will "enjoy" the music and relax and respond to the stimuli like they would respond to say  water by closing their guard cells.

Now this may be far fetched but I think certain plants would prefer certain music just like certain plants prefer a lot of sunshine and other prefer shade or part shade.

This I am sure of though that plants would enjoy good music and respond by growing more vigorously and being healthier. I think I just made a discovery or a great observation. Thank you for reading and have a great day. =_)

do plants have genders?

Yes some plants have genders, some do not.
I am not a plant expert but I know that what I said is correct. Some plants are "males" and some plants are "females" like in animals. Plants have female parts like ovaries where the flower and fruits grow if fruits grow on the plant.

nice. so do they have sex?

No, no sex is done by animals. What happens is male pollen goes on the female ovaries and it "pollinates them" then fruits grow, like an apple. Some plants have both female and male parts which is interesting.
Male and female cells come in contact, you could call that "sex" but I wouldn't. Sex is for animals and people. =_) Well now you know. Biology should be coming up for you in your highschool years. Enjoy it and learn much from your class my friend!

thanks for this

I did this for a science project.

Sounds fun. What were the results? Any affects? Must have been a great fun experiment.
Put some of your favorite music on and have a plant or two nearby or three plants and in a week or two or a month check out what happens.
Even better expose some plants to music and another group of plants to no music and see what happens. Keep the other variables constant and boom you have yourself a proffesional science experiment at home!

vegan?

No I am not a vegan or vegetarian. I eat meat and fish and milk and am happy and healthy.  I was vegetarian for a little while many years ago though.
Why are you a vegan my friend? and if you have something to say about my idea say it! Have a good day. =-)
