| Maybe most conservatives have more old fashioned "church, home, and community" dreams about what to do with their lives, dreams which don't require much more than a degree in the humanities or liberal arts. |

As a Republican scientist I find this post and the article LOLworthy.
No offense Elm, but there's a lot of anti-science fundies in the republican party. Yes, I know you're not one of them. But more and more, the people who aren't, the people who are more moderate or more intelligent, have been leaving the party. It's hardly a surprise that fewer scientists want to be associated with the GOP now, but I'd be surprised if there aren't a significant number of more conservative-oriented people in that group who simply don't identify as republican.
And I can say there are a lot of anti-science individuals in the democrat party as well. People who don't weigh evidence, people who abhor the idea of cost-benefit analysis and the like. That being said very few independents and a great deal less conservatives are republicans at the moment, and I really can't blame them. |

Maybe not all, just 94% of them from the numbers in the article.
I couldn't find that number associated with creationism anywhere in that article. |

Republicans don't like science because they believe that things like facts or any evidence contrary to what they themselves believe are just tools of the liberal media.
Can you show me evidence that Republicans don't like science?
Creationism
So you lump all Republicans into that group? Show me how stereotyping works. |
