some really life altering things have come up in my life and im afraid that if i tell my bf i need a break from dating that he will flip out, i have told him i needed a break many times before because i have alot going on in my life. he knows that my feelings for him have faded and i can see it in his eyes. i feel terrible about it but i need sum time to sort some things out in my own life and i cant be there for him completely rite now so i thought that a break would be a good idea. im not sure how to tell him this in a way where he would understand.... any ideas?

It just sounds like he might be giving you a hard time about you wanting a break from him. I can relate. I had a boyfriend once who would not leave me alone. Literally. He would be by my side at all times, and I couldn't even do my own thing without him thinking something was wrong and/or getting upset.

And if you need a break from your boyfriend, no matter what the reason is, he should be supportive especially if it has nothing to do with him. If you've experienced life-altering events, then he should be completely by your side, even if it means being away from you. He needs to understand this, and you need to make it as clear as possible to him. Tell him that it's not a break-up.. it's just a break. You want to be by yourself, you want time to think without him being there to affect your mind and attitude. Let him know that it isn't because of anything he did, and if he isn't supportive of you, it may just turn into a breakUP.

explain to him what going on with you and that you can about him and think you cant be there for him right now so its best for both of you to have a break

if you love him...
then why would you break up with him?

but do what you want...not what he wants.
