Are there any legit and free virus removal downloads on the internet?

My windows live OneCare is expired but still scans and found a trojan virus.  I need to find something that is legit that will get rid of the virus and any other minor bugs until I have the cash to purchase some new software.

Please help, I am really in need of some right now...

Avira works pretty good.  I gave up on AVG after a bit.

AVG and Avast are the ones I have used.

It's good to have several. Some pick up what others miss.

AVG has been mentioned and is probably the best free one.
Malwarebytes is also very good.

And if you can't get rid of the virus with either of those, try the AVAST trial version, it has probably the most hardcore disinfection process.

If you have comcast, I believe they give out a free 30-day trial and all that. There are some on the internet, most definitely. Just try to avoid the ones which give you actual viruses when downloading. :/
