So my computer died, I know its the hard dive and I was wondering if I replaced the hard drive and I put in the disk toshiba sent me that's supposed to repair windows (not the restore disk) would it put it onto ht hard drive? I Ned a computer and don't have money to buy one or repair this one with toshiba for $400

Just Go to Your local computer store, tell them the make of the computer, tell them your buget, most companys are nice about it and will tell you a good about it, the disk will work if you tell them the make of the computer.

You will need something that is capable of installing a version of Windows, most likely a restore disc (or regular Win install disc).

You might be able to image your system over if there is a little bit of life left on the HDD.

put a new hard drive in it, you'd probably need the restore disk, but you have lost all your docuemnts and photos if the hard drive is dead
