dude.. ccna is getting difficult, I got mine in 2003,now has expired and have to take test (re-test)

Concepts are not vender specific.

If you understand what you're doing, changing vendors shouldn't be that big a deal.

Does this model support whatever feature?  And what are the commands to implement it?  That's what reference books and documentation are for.

Much like changing programming languages isn't nearly the deal some make it out to be.

subnetting is a crazy mess. do you have your own cisco equipment? are you gonna get the network + too? it might not make sense to get it but ccna is vendor specific.

^^ Once you have it you have it!

Yeah... CCNA would take some time to get.  I was going to get my gpa back up and my university, and then do the CCNA through the local community college while still going to the university.

I think the network+ is less time consuming so that will help!  With network+ do you have to keep getting certified or is it once you get it you have it forever like A+?

^^ tbh look at doing your network+.

Yes CISCO are one of the biggest vendors in the networking/inter-networking but lots of companies will want experience across the board not just specific to cisco.

Dont forget to renew it in 3 years time.

we have to renew it?

Lolz.. Yes CCNA's have to take some test again every 3 years, not sitting through courses again but you need to keep the certs current.

I just looked into the whole CCNA tonight.  I might be interested in it.  I figure CIS Major with CCNA should help me land some kind of job, then the employer can pay to keep my certification current. Ha.
