I just called the TS guy, and he said that I would have to send my laptop to them, they'd fix it, and send it back. They'd have it for like, 10 days. Which I can't do because I need my laptop for school.
My boyfriend and I just had this discussion last night. Tech Support guys are doing things you could do yourself for lots of money and the only reason you're not going to have for ten days is that they keep it around the office until they get to it. Most problems they fix only take 20 minutes usually. Seriously, you're better off just fixing it yourself. Flip it over, find a screw driver, clean off the fan, put the plate back over it. It's easy and takes less time than they would. I have to reformat my computer, which I'm doing myself because the tech guy will charge out the ass.
Yeah, srsly. I'm on the phone with the Geek Squad now, trying to see what they can tell me. I seriously think if I get a cooling pad, then it'll be fine.
Then get one. |

| look online for the manual for your laptop. somewhere in there it should tell you how to take it apart. it's pretty simple though... there are screws on the bottom that you just take out then pop the back off and clean |

If it's on a desk i suppose thats best you can do unless you fan it or something :S have you tried dusting out the parts you can recently? cos my computer fan used to be really loud but then cleaned it out and was quiet again
How do I do that?

| Try propping it up with a book....it needs air flow, which it's not getting flat against a surface. |

| I have the same problem. I usually just close some applications or turn it off for a while. I treat it like it's alive, so I just assume it needs to rest. |

Do you use it on a table or at bed?
On a table - it's a TV tray. |
