Has anyone here ever gotten pulled over and caught with something in their vehicle, like alcohol, pot, any other drug paraphernalia, and gotten away with it? I'm talking like maybe a pipe and a little bit of pot, or an unopened beer. Just something small, but illegal nonetheless. I have heard of cops letting people off for DUIs, and I am just curious as to what is really happening.

I am not asking this for advice for myself, but just out of curiosity. Cops and their sneaky ways intrigue me. :P

Ok, no matter what let the police search your vehicle.  always keep the windows up and doors locked, and EVERYTHING out of plain sight. matter a fact truck works the best. dont ever have anything on your person. and if you dont trust your friends who smoke or drink or you think are carrying with your life dont let them do it. college kids i hate to say it will drop that sack and pipe in your car so fast, to get it off them , adn you will get fucked and stuck with it. the police will pull you over for alot of things especially being out late, and the whole "running the red light trick works good".  Dont ever consent to a search. let him call the drug dog. thats the dogs job right? give that dog job security.  Dont talk too much.  only answer his/her questions to the bill, dont go on and on.  if you do find yourself in handcuffs, at that point STFU, dont say a thing.  one of the best things i found to ask, was if you felt he was just pulling you over for shits and giggles and werent getting anywhere with him about w/e he pulled you over for, ask am i being detained or am i free to go? that pretty much lets you know, yha your good or no were going to be here for awhile. just keep a cool head.  but yha i got away with an qp in my truck, because i refused to let him search my vehicle, and was even taken into custody and the dog came, and didnt smell shit.  everything was hidden and wrapped well. and at the end of the day i won and johnny law lost.

Kind of off topic but a funny story.

I got pulled over for speeding one day and the cop came up to the passenger window and asked for license, registration, etc. So I tell my friend to grab it out of the glove box and he opens it and like 8 shot glasses fall out. Nothing really wrong but it was kind of an awkward moment.

Hahaha. That's pretty funny.

cops up here are ridiculously chill... just this weekend we were chillin outside my vehicle, parked on the side of a street... cop pulled up, we had bottles of booze, cases of beer... all he said was "are you drinking in public" and we showed him that none of the beers were open, so he just told us to put the beers back in the case and move them away from the open door, told us to have a good weekend and left.

So...I already want to move to Canada, and you are helping to enforce that, haha. Seriously, WHY THE FUCK DON'T I LIVE IN CANADA?

Can someone here please tell me what's so bad about Canada besides the weather? I live in Minnesota already, so there's not a big difference regarding climate. Come on, there has to be SOMETHING wrong with Canada...

Well, once I got jacked up with 2 of my old friends and they searched us and my truck and had 7 cop cars at the scene. Didn't find a thing and let me go no problem. Fucking pigs.

The second time, recently, I was with a buddy and it was 3:30am and we were on the way back from the casino. I "ran" a redlight and the cop chased me down and pulled me over. We had 10 hydro 7.5's and a bubbler and pretty much a full 30.

The guy made us dump out the 30 - fucker - and took the bubbler and my buddy put the pills, in a plastic bag, in his waistline - no idea how the cop didn't find them, he searched us both.

I got off with a redlight ticket and my buddy didn't get anything. I was livid though. All that beer gone to waste.

when you get pulled over only crack your window to talk to the officer. This prevents him from sticking his head in and smelling alcohol or drugs. If he asks you to step out of the vehicle roll up all the windows and lock the doors and don't consent to a search. Chances are he'll let you go with a ticket. Don't talk much either...

Wow, that's messed up.

I'm also from a small town, and now that I think about it I can think of plenty of instances where people got away with different things (less serious things, like you were saying).

In one town near where I live, the cops actually allow certain people to drink and drive. Or at least that's what a couple guys were telling me, and I think I believe them because it's a small hick town of 400 or 500 people. The cops will see them driving around and drinking but just shake their head at them.

I just thought of something else, too. I was at a quarry this week with a couple friends and there was a cop hanging out there, and though he was off-duty I still thought it was a bit weird that he was drinking with a couple of my underage guy friends. They actually offered him beer.

I always just chalked it up to me being from a smaller city though. I know plenty of people who broke a rule (but weren't under an influence, just like turning on a red arrow or something) and they'd be pulled over and flat out asked "What cops do you know", and after listing them off they'd be sent off without a ticket.

The cops here are a bit shady, but then again, we are close to LAPD.

It really just depends on who you know. I know people who should have gotten DUIs (even crashed into parked cars while drunk), but the first cop on the scene went to high school with them, so he just drove the drunk kid home.

That's insane. It sounds like it happens more often than I thought, so I'm glad I made this topic.

Yup. Weed and paraphenalia. I also had a warrant for my arrest. So did my friend.

That's incredibly lucky!

You have no idea....

uhm..... u probably go to jail if u have all that shit in there...

All right, so I'll re-explain the topic for you. I am asking if people have NOT gotten in trouble for being caught with these things. It happens, believe it or not.

And I wasn't saying all of that "shit" would be in the car at once. What if a cop just found a beer, or a pipe, or whatever. Settle down.
