Ugh.

I just started a 5 week intensive math class this week (Intermediate Algebra) and wow it's a pain! It's basically 2 hours 5 days a week for 5 weeks. I've got 1 week down, but oh my goodness I can tell this is not gonna be fun. Everything is so fast paced, and my teacher doesn't really do a good job with his lectures, but if you stay after class and ask specific questions he's much better...so it's a good thing that I've basically taken this class before (the HS version) because otherwise, I don't think I'd have a prayer at passing. The best part about it is the access to the gym at the college and the discount I can get on MS Office 07 (I can get it for $60 because I'm taking the class at the local CC).

Anyone else stuck taking summer classes? I'm glad this is the only one and that I'm going to school elsewhere come August. I just needed to get this class out of the way now.

Ouch dude. That schedule sounds tough. I know organic chemistry is one of the hardest classes at college alone, and your taking it with linear algebra (concepts past calculus).. that's way intense. I wish you the best of luck..
I can only dream of getting that far into chemisty, I'm just working hard into bio right now.

So many people say that organic chem is hard O__O.  I'm hoping it'll be easier than my past two chem courses.  I'm a chemical engineering major, so I'll be getting plenty of this stuff, haha.  But yeah, the organic chem course is 3 hours lecture per week, one hour discussion, and five hour lab O__O.

Yeah def. I'm taking Bio/bio lab this fall. 3 hours instruction, 3 hours of lab. It's not going to be hard, bio is easier to me than chem, cause I can memorize better. >>>

I'm the same way.  I love biology as well, which is why I'm concentrating biotechnology for my major :).

The five hour lab shouldn't be too bad for me... the past two semesters, I've had to have four hour labs once a week... so one more hour won't hurt, lol.

I'm taking two Summer classes right now. Six week multivariable calculus class, and six week online English course. My classes are about 3 hours a week, Mon-Thurs for the math class in the mornings.

The class is rather boring, and I don't think we're going to get through all the material. So I think if I have time in fall, when I'm at my actual school, I'll just audit the multivariable calculus course there to make sure I'm up to speed.

Yeah same thing happened in my calculus class. We didn't finish the material, so I'm not sure what's going to happen when I get into the next math class, even though I passed with an A and can move on.
We didn't even touch the last chapter and there were only 6 in our book that we used, lol.

Oh well, that's not our fault our teacher was slow when going over the material..

Anyways, I feel like taking an english or math course over the summer is better. Yes it's intense, school should be intense, but if you can get it out of the way in the summer/get ahead in the summer you should do it.

I know next year spring, I wont have to take a math class with 4 other different classes just because I was focused for 6 weeks in the summer. :

I'm use to intensive for the most part, it's not a big deal. I'm taking two courses over the summer, but fall will be much more packed. I'll probably take five courses (my advisor said there was no way they would approve me for six)... and I'm pretty excited. Chem Eng, Organic Chem, Linear Algebra and Differential Equations... and a fifth course, which may be bio, or engineering... lol. Looking forward to it, but it'll still be rather painful :)

blitzerdog - Yeah, I'm taking my class so I don't have to take the equivalent in the spring and stats next summer.

I wish my class was Monday-Thursday. Fridays off would be nice!

I just finished my six week business calculus class. It wasn't that much of a pain for a summer class. It was from 10 am to 1230 monday thru thursday..

It went by pretty quick and now I dont have to take it in the fall!

:p

A 90% is good! That's an A-. I had my first quiz today, but I don't know what I got on it.

I'm taking two classes right now. They last six weeks. I had my first test today for a biological psychology class. I got a 90%, and I studied so much. :(
