not exactly because emotional problems can happen to ANYONE, and many people are sympathetic to gays. almost no one is truly empathetic to people with severe emotional problems and our society still completely ignores it
Lololololwut? Do you listen to yourself talk?

I'm sorry, I'm far too tired to deal with you anymore. There's some things obviously not connecting right in your head.

(By the way, "sympathetic" and "empathetic" aren't synonymous. Just so you know.)

i know they are not, but thats besides the point

why is anything ive said unreasonable, societies attitude towards people with emotional problems is a lot worse than towards gay people. okay maybe they feel sorry for them more than outright hate them, but at least SOME of the population accepts gay people

An Audi R8 2008

It's my dad's car right now. He's giving it to me on my 16th birthday.

Someone apparently has not learn Sarcasm. Even if your dad DOES have a R8, there is no logical reason any sane male would let a 16 year old female drive one.

okay, but this is more sinister because its more subtle and its applied to everyone...white, black, disabled, physically fit, men, women, etc etc etc

i never said theres any reason to be ashamed of it

im saying that its fucking ridiculous the way people act

So then I guess being gay and straight is sinister too, because it's applied to everyone...white, black, disabled, physically fit, men, women, etc., etc., etc.

It's pretty self-explanatory.

it matters because its not just that some people are not willing to accept it

it matters because the majority of fucking people have a stigma against it and/or are complete twats about it. overt racism is rare these days but discrimination and callousness towards people with emotional problems is the rule, not the exception

It was merely an example. But you want to argue numbers? Fine, let's say Muslims or gays or Satanists. Or we can go back in time 60 years and use blacks as an example then. It really doesn't matter, because my point still stands. Some - many people, in fact - will not accept it. But that doesn't mean there is any real, logical reason to be ashamed of it. People don't accept the fact that I was a cutter, but I'm not ashamed of it just because they think I should be.
