So, I have lost friends before.  But typically in situations where they just "assholed" their way out of the friendship, and it just sorta quietly died.
I have been friends with this girl for six and some odd years now.  We've been best friends for about as long.  But early on this year, we began to fade out.  No real fights but just a back and forth struggle keeping her happy.  She is very high maintenance and confronts and accuses me of not being a good friend.  Each time my boyfriend and I hang out, we invite her and her boyfriend to come along, but they always have plans.

Our boyfriends are roommates and I know that they have not gotten along lately either.  But, she and he showed up with four of her friends that I have never met before.  I was on my way out and I said good by to first her and her boyfriend then to everyone else.  Everyone said goodbye, except for her.  She fixed her eyes on the floor.  They had their own plans, no invite my way.  Soo, I'm not sure what it is I did.

Is it wrong.. if I don't want to fix things for a while?  I mean, maybe at some point I will, but I feel like I need to be mad about this.  I never get upset about things, but she was just acting so high and mighty.  I feel sorta betrayed and hurt, and really I don't want to fix it if things are just going to fall apart.
Sorry, perhaps this is more suited for a rant label.
Thanks, LW.

Talk to her. Tell her: Look man, I can't bend over backwards for you all the time.  It's getting annoying. If you were a real friend you would stop this crap all the time. If you don't, I think we should stop bein buds.

wow thats like the exact problem i have. and my friendship with this girl is taking sooo much effort to keep going that it feels like its not even worth it.

It's just a real pain.  I love hanging out with her, she's seriously a very cool person.  But GAH, if you don't bend to her every whim, you get a look.  It's just annoying because I don't feel like we are friends.  I didn't get an introduction to any of these people, and even the nicest implication wasn't enough to make her even look at me.. let alone say something.

i totally understnad you and sometimes the best thing for friends is space. give each other some time either you'll move on or come running back to one another
