A couple in my circle of friends broke up last week. They both decided that it's for the best and that they just don't love each other anymore.

They were together for 6 years...and now they absolutely hate each other. The way they talk about each other is ridiculously mean...

I really don't get it.

there's no love anymore or they're sick of each other's flaws.

Wow that's not a very good reason. Was it just "Yeah, maybe we should break up, no reason or anything just kind of time"?

They stopped loving each other, they didn't see a reason for staying together anymore. Nothing really bothered them, but nothing made them happy either.

Idk if I'd call that love then.

Pay attention to the first sentence.

 "They stopped loving each other."

I meant I wouldn't call what they had before that love.
Love doesn't just -stop-, if it does, then love wouldn't really be great at all...what they had was pathetic either way.

I think we've had a fight about this before, so I'm just going to take your opinion and say that I disagree.

It just happens that way sometimes, you can't be together, but being apart causes you to hate them because you don't always want to lose what you've lost.
Aileyy Posted at 1:39 pm on July 3, 2009
Maybe they just werent getting what they needed from each other anymore and they could both be hurt that it didnt work.  It might not just be that they hate each other.

It's because they secretly want to continue having sex, but neither of them have the balls to apologize so they funnel their angst into a form of aggression which will continue to expand exponentially as their lust for one another will continue to become increasingly frustrated, which will add more to the rage.

You should pull one of those cartoon-esque stunts by sending letters out to both of them with each other's names, asking them out for a date at a fancy place you paid a reservation for.

... Yeah, considering it sounds like they broke it off on good terms...

Normally the hatred it reserved for messy breakups.

Leannbby Posted at 2:38 am on July 3, 2009
i get it...its just hard to explain

they are talking like that because their probably full of insecure regret and are at their lowest points.

danzelx Posted at 2:38 am on July 3, 2009
Because they are hurting.
