Could you cite a probable example of an unjustified belief I might hold?
I'm totally self-assured, self-confident and self-aware. But I don't make topics that poke fun at those who I disagree with or who may disagree with me.
The only claims I make are those of my belief. It doesn't bother me that you may disagree. What bothers me is that so many who do disagree, feel it makes them superior and me (and/or those who believe as I do), inferior. It does not make them right or even probably right.
You may be a better or worse person than the average non-believer, and you may be more or less rational in other areas, but here you are indubitably less rational and thus fair game for a little mocking.
When you find that there is empirical evidence for everything you believe, then you can look down on those of faith. However, at that point you'll probably find you have lost all human qualities and values.
If the only reason you suppress your laughter is because of social conditioning, please see a therapist to help you over that.

There's no god, stop trying to convert all of them damn atheists how can you be so sure?!!! suppose that what you said is right(there is no god).so the believers are going to lose after death? but in other hand what will happen if they are right? nothing but hell. You can make your choice wisely either bellive in god,or stay hopeless in this life without knowing where you came from, where are you going to or why are you in this life.

stupid livewire ad. There's no god, stop trying to convert all of them damn atheists
well, first of all that was a joke.
However, I would like to point out that atheism is the lack of belief in a god or gods, and nothing else.
second of all, no matter what anyone says no one knows where we came from, or where we're going. I guess I should ask "how can you be so sure?". If you find a religious myth to be satysfying then good for you.
I believe God is made-up and is not real, but if it gets people to be good then it does not matter to me.

How far can you sink in your desperate attempt to hold on to primitive iron age mythology? Arguing with Forever Angel is pretty much banging your head against a wall since you do not even agree with the fundamentals, such as reason being a value.

I believed in santa and god when I was little, then I became older, smarter with a strong mind, and got common sense.
Quote: from Forever Angel at 12:38 am on July 11, 2009 It matters not the number of claims made. Only the attitude of superiority expressed in the claims. The OP here is a fine example. Superiority and self-assurance can be more or less justified. In cases where one is probably right, it is fairly excusable. In cases where one's claims are wildly improbable, it is anything from laughable to intolerable. To say that a being whose existence is completely unsupported by empirical evidence is non-existent is to make a modest claim. To say that a being whose existence is completely unsupported by empirical evidence does exist is anything but modest, and claiming to know what this being has done in the past and wants in the future, and proclaiming that the fate of all existence, including our own illustrious species, is bound up inextricably in this tale is to make an extraordinary claim. The only reason your religion does not cause irrepressible laughter in all who come across it is the social conditioning which has rendered it seemingly plausible. Not that that means it's certainly false, of course. Just somewhat barmy and not to be advanced without due caution.

You seem intent on picking a fight with me. Why is that?
