And people wonder why I have no faith in humanity.

It can be summed up in song lyrics. "this is evolution the monkey, the man, then the gun" Instead of finding out how to better ourselves and become more peaceful we find better ways to kill each other. We started with just our fists, then stones, then clubs, then spears, then swords and such, then simple guns, then machine guns artillery ect, then nukes that can kill every man on earth 10 times over. Sure we can cure diseases but not world hunger or poverty and such but still killing each other seems to have advanced more then anything. And people wonder why I have no faith in humanity. /end semi rant
Maybe you are not helping with the solution. You speak of 'humanity' as if you were an out-group to that category. What is 'humanity' but you?
It may not be ideal, it may not be perfect, but it's something.
And on a personal, person-to-person basis, it's been my experience that most people at least try to be decent people in some manner. They might be misguided sometimes, they might be simply dumb, or they might not really know what to do, but they do try.
As long as that holds true, I have plenty of hope for humanity. So what if it the majority ends up a disappointment? There's enough to make it worth it, and for me that's enough.
