I personally do think that 24 is a little old for a promise ring. Really, anything beyond high school or maybe the first couple years of college is too old, because by then, people your age are getting married. I would suggest some other piece of jewelry, probably a nice necklace. If you simply must make it a ring, make it something small, with a coloured gemstone so it will be clear it's not an engagement ring, but maybe don't call it a promise ring.

To me promise rings are for people who are below the age of consent for marriage... at this age it would just be an engagement ring.

I would have to go with this one. Make the next ring a proposal.

um. i think you're a little old for a promise ring.
i would go with some other piece of jewelry.
find out her favorite gem stone.
a tennis bracelet would be nice. it lets her know how much you care about her without having a misuderstanding. and she won't have to be constantly explaining that her ring isn't an engagement ring and why..
and trust me.. people WILL ask.
whatever you decide to do.. defnitely put a lot of thought into it... because i promise, it's not about how much money  you spend. it's about how much effort you put into picking the perfect gift.

24 sounds okay to me...

I don't see the point of a promise ring unless it has a specific meaning.  Like one person going away for a while or something.
If it is too early for an engagement ring, get her a necklace.

Of course I was engaged after 4 month.

i think you'd be fine with a promise ring
as long as there aren't misunderstandings
i mean, if you aren't ready to propose than you aren't

its sorta dumb cause if you gave me one i'd assume you meant you were waiting till after we were married to have sex not that you promising to be with me. honestly, if your going to get her a ring, make it the wedding ring

Go for it.  My boyfriend just gave me a promise ring for our 1 year.  It let's her know you care without taking that huge step.
