How much does inpatient hospitalization cost?

Like if you have an eating disorder, and you just can't recover on your own anymore. How much does like "Remuda Ranch" cost? Does insurance pay for it or help?

It depends on your insurance company if they'll pay for it or help.
You should contact them to find out.

I would assume different places would cost different amounts as well.

yeah I really have no idea. are you still on your parents insurance? some places will pay, some will pay half, and some won't pay jack at all.

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue.

it really all depends. inpatient is ridiculously expensive. I was inpatient, for 2 1/2 weeks and without insurance it was $100,000, with our insurance we still had to pay 7,000
places like remuda ranch and renfrew and center for discovery and center for change are all residential but cost a lot too. The best way to go about it is basically looking at every single inpatient center there is whether it be in a hospital or residential. If you look hard enough you'll probably be able to find some place that ur insurance covers

luckily i live in the uk. I had inpatient treatment in oxford in the UK for 1 year and daypatient treatment for 3 months. So the nhs picked up the thousands of pounds of treatment I recieved. If i hadn't recieved the treatment i would have certainly died- that's why i think it is so unfair in the US that you have to pay for your healthcare.

If you go to Renfrew or Remuda you will pay a shitload. Those are residential and you will be expected to stay for a couple months. If you want to go INPATIENT for a couple weeks to a month or so just to break the cycle, that would be in a hospital. I went inpatient in a hospital and it was 1500 a day, but insurance covered it. If you are going to do this out of pocket it is very expensive. Look up hospitals covered by your insurance that have eating disorder programs.

Also, go to edreferral.com and look around there for inpatient options in your area and find out which is covered by your insurance.  If there is absolutely nowhere for you to go that insurance will cover, look up mercy ministries and apply there. It is residential, and it requires a 6 month commitment, and the waiting list is outrageous, but it is free.
