Out of that list, I'd lean towards the Volvo. The price is reasonable, the mileage isnt too bad. Honestly though, with the car market being fucked still, you can knock 400 to 500 off all those prices easy.

Parts wont be as cheap as you think for Camaros. They wont be ungodly high but they're gonna be more expensive than say an Impala or Cavalier.
You see many Cameros down in the junk yards dude? Anything and everything has to be cheap there.

But as far as new, quality parts go you have to figure Camaro's are common, popular cars. People like 'em, and a lot were made. So parts can't be too bad. Where as a car like mine, I had to have new control arms shipped from California (one of three states that had them) for an incredibly hefty price, all said and done.

3rd gens yes, theres probably like 10 of them at my junkyard. but Fourth gens, theres only ever been 2 at a time there, those are rare at the yard. Over the year I've been going I've only seen maybe 5-8 fourth gens.

Oh and by the way... just because theres a modification background for Camaros, does not mean those parts are cheap. Sure you can FIND parts easy but they wont be cheap.

Then you've gotta wonder how much was interchangeable between third and fourth generations. Given the American auto industry's resistance to innovation, I'd say a lot is interchangeable. Could be wrong though.

Not much is the same
Quick search at the good old Wikipedia showed me that they've got the same engines, same chassis. Well at least the year's we're looking at (pre-LS1 models had the LT1 350s). I didn't bother looking at the six cylinders, because they don't matter.

Sort of just backs up my hypothesis that muscle cars are just pickup trucks shaped like coupes.

Early model fourth gens do. Didn't the LS1s only come in 97?

Personally, I would look keep hunting for a car. I think Nissans are pretty good cars and all of my friends who have had a Nissan have said their's are pretty reliable.

Anywho, out of that list I would go with the Volvo because it has less mileage than the others.  The Camaro and the Mustang are going to suck your gas money down. Also, insurance on them will be more because they are a "Sports" car.

My friend Samantha just traded in her 2001 Ford focus that had close to the same amount of mileage as the one you listed. Her engine was dying. I would avoid Ford vehicles with that many miles.

Out of the two, I'd go with the Pontiac or the Volvo.
