So. A couple days ago, I found out my nana (grandmother) has another flare-up of leukemia. This time it has affected her immune system and spread into her spleen and lymph nodes. She's back on chemotherapy.

The day after I found this out, my uncle Owen fainted and was taken to the hospital. There doctors found he has a brain tumor (on the right side), severe lung cancer (metstasic sp?), and an "abnormality" in his waist region. I want to be there as much as I can, but I'm in school. I've already made plans to visit. My problem is that I don't know what to do. This is a huge deal and I don't really know who to talk to. Does anyone know of any resources I could use for both myself and my Aunt, who is obviously distraught?

Your school counselor is perfect for this. They can help get you through this very well. Your aunt, if she goes to a church could speak to a pastor. That and you two do have each other to help get through this. Family is a good resource you know?

Don't feel so bad about this though, as you've already made plans to visit so that proves that you care about your family. There's always family counseling as well for you two, to talk about how you feel with this. Counseling would be the same as your school counselor but accessible to you AND your aunt, giving both of you a chance to talk to someone about it. Hope this helps you somewhat :)
