well, the cookie will keep getting on your computer if you go to the site you originally got it from.

so it might not be something harmful, it just traks the sites you go to for certan information. like, they want to know what other sites people go to that visit there site, just so they can advertize on that site. in theory it will make there ad's way more capable of bringing in someone that will actually post, instead of just signing up, and leaving because they are not interested. in that case there will be more people who continue to come, and also means more ad's will get clicked on there site, earning them money.
