Ever since High School I have always dated and recently it has gotten to me. I have been in a relationship with my girlfriend for about 2 years and we were bestfriends for about 4. My problem is that I feel she has become too independent for me and have been having a lot of doubts about our relationship. It used to be fun but now she is just always busy with work and her extra-curricular activities and when she is free, she is hanging out with her guy friends. She barely acknowledges me when I text her and usually its always a one word response. She does love me a lot. I have made many sacrifices for her including not joining the coast guard academy and I honestly cannot get my mind off of her. I tend to worry about her more than i do about my own obligations. Many of my friends have dissapeared because my girlfriend and I were always together. I love her like crazy but am starting to wonder if she really is what I need right now. I'm almost 21 and need to get my act together and life figured out and she always seems to come first in my book. I really don't think it would be this hard if we were not friends for so long before. I could not imagine a life without her but I know being in a relationship will always be a huge distraction for me. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

So tell her you want to end things because you don't think she's paying enough attention to you.
::shrugs:: Maybe she'll get her act together.

Join the coast guard academy. You want to your life in order? Do something like that, sounds like you need to do something to get her off your mind.

Take time off. Be less responsive to you. It sounds like you are growing apart, and as much as that sucks, that is part of life. Maybe you two are starting to take each other for granted. I would suggest focusing more on yourself and your life and things will fall into place.

Thanks it's just hard. I do have my own hobbies but am always willing to make time for her. I guess it's something to work on.
