I'm going to a small (4,500) student liberal arts school, if that makes anything different.

Due to several reasons, I was never really able to break out of my box in highschool. So in college, I want to go and meet as many people as possible, because that's what I like to do. I love meeting new people. There's something fresh and exciting about having friends from all walks of life.

Anyways, now that I'm done fawning. I know I want to do that.

What's the best way to go about that? The obvious answer is to try and befriend people in your dorm, and classes.

I just don't want to be one of those kids that goes to college all excited, and for some reason they are unable to adjust, and end up hating their social lives.  

I don't know. I kind of felt that way about college when I was in high school, but when I got here, I realized all the people in my dorm are idiots and not people I actually want to hang out with.

Which is very similar to what happened in high school.

I don't know. I would suggest not being yourself if lots of friends is what you're looking for
