Last month, Senator David Vitter (R-LA) opposed a congressional measure to prohibit the government from working with contractors who deny victims of rape or assault the right to bring their cases to court.

Do you think his excuse holds water? Do you think the woman has a valid point?

The guy's a moron.

He's trying to defend himself by claiming "Obama's in favor of rape". He didn't back himself up at all, he just brought up the "evil liberal" and tried to make Obama look worse than himself. The woman has a very valid point.

The Obama Defense Department raised concerns about the reach of the Franken amendment, the White House itself said it supported "the intent" and was working to make sure it was "enforceable."

There is a right of contract issue that exists that he could use to back up his position.  I feel its week compared to the right of contract that exists from government outward which is what is being used to stop these sorts of measures.  The same as government making mandates in other areas for their contractors.

If this applied to all companies everywhere, lots of people would be leary. As a measure that just says "here's what you're going to have to do if you want to do business with us" it's perfectly reasonable. It sets no dangerous precedent. If the government said they'd only contract work to your company if all your employees wore duck costumes all the time, it'd be stupid but permissible.

Its the governments contract they, can mandate whatever they wish.  "If the government said they'd only contract work to your company if all your employees wore duck costumes all the time, it'd be stupid but permissible."  crazy but true.
