One of the most pressing issues today, Gay marriage is a very heated topic.

Conduct Yourselves Maturely and Ethically,

THIS IS NOT A HATE THREAD.

NO HATE TERMS.

This should be a logical discussion as to whether people support or do not support gay marriage.

I'll start.

I support gay marriage, because I believe marriage is defined by love, not gender.

I support gay marriage because I believe everyone should be given the opportunity to marry, and have the same legal rights, regardless of gender or sexual orientation.

I support gay marriage. If two people truly love each other and want to spend their lives together, why hold them back? Everyone should have the right to get married and have equal rights.

Does anyone know the reasoning that was behind Maine's decision?

It's wrong to stop two people who love each other getting married. I hate the whole idea of marriage, but if people feel they want to get married, people shouldn't be aloud to stop them. What's wrong with people, seriously. Why should they decide?

I honestly don't understand why it's a big deal in the first place. If two people love each other, they should be able to get married. Simple as that.

Propaganda, making it seem like everyone else doesnt think its ok, is actually a very common and effective tactic.  As are the strong feelings that some people feel on the issues....

But no, i dont think its wrong....

Truthfully I'm kinda indifferent on the subject of gays as long as they don't flaunt it, but I say give them the exact same rights as straight people.

It's not all just straight people though, there are members of the LGBT community that don't believe that marriage is between a same sex couple, but rather a heterosexual pair.

^^So says a Transsexual speaker at my college the other day.
