The sub was being a racial troll, and he thought it was funny. That is the obvious part of this thread.

Not sure if I'd consider it rude, but I would consider it tactless.  Your sub could have put it better, or better yet, your sub could have thought it over and decide whether the point was even significant enough to talk about or not.

He's pointing out the obvious. If someone went to Europe and said "The people there were White - really White" all he/she would probably receive would be chuckles.

It was a nice geography lesson for you - tropical environments generate darker skin.

Be glad you have been enriched with knowledge and stop throwing race as if it had anything to do with what he said.
