For the last week, and since last week, I've notice how my laptop has been very, very, lagging, and slow. I wonder why, and I started to monitor how much ram it uses, and it uses anywhere from 60%-to near 90% when I'm just doing average internet surfing.

I have no clue why this is happening, and I have not not downloaded any new files. I have AVG and I scan daily, and I have even try to defrag my system two times back to back, and it still does not work.

My OS is Vista, and I don't want to hear any rants about how bad this system is, I just want help on my problem.

AVG is fucking shit. Get rid of it. Get spybot and cc cleaner and run a scan through your system. Defrag and what not. See how it runs afterwards.

Hey, Can you go into task manager and go on the "Processes" part and see what processes are using up the most ram. If you are having AVG running all the time and scanning this may be your problem, When a anti-virus program scans your whole computer for viruses it can be a resource hog . I'm not sure which browser you use because you haven't mentioned it but sometimes with Mozilla Firefox if you leave it running for a long time or leave it minimized and don't use it the ram can build up and it keeps on building up until it eventually crashes, I'm not sure if this happens in the newer versions but I remember it happening more than once to me.
Check the processes that are running and how much ram they are using, Report back what you have found and I will try to help you to the best of my ability.

I already figured that AVG isn't the best software, what do you suggest?

Mkay. I have the Task manager up, and on processes. But how do I know which one takes up the most? is it under the memory sub tab?
