Eh, High Birthrate? The only Indian guys I know are kind of dicks, but that's par for the course at my school. It's more the obsession with success than anything. Either way, my grandfather was born there, so there's that.

I agree, sort of... A good portion the people that I've met online that are from India have been rude, to say the least. Not all, but a lot. The people from India that I've met in person seem nice, but I agree, lack of success is NOT an option for them. It's intimidating...

I think it's a culture thing, especially among immigrants in general. I've noticed it with a lot of Asians as well, there's a big drive to succeed first and foremost. My friend Ricky for example, whenever we were ribbing each other over whose program at University is better (We spent all High school competing over grades, and both got into fairly exclusive programs at the same University) and while my argument always came down to I'd have more fun at my job, his was always about how much cash he'd be bringing in. Same with the Indian guy in my program, he's getting this and then an MBA so he can work on that whole "Wealthy Startup" thing, whereas I just like coding and wanted a job I'd enjoy.

Agreed. There's more of a drive to bring in cash, be successful, and support the family. There's nothing wrong with it, it's just different from how I was raised. Agreed, Asians have that too. My friend was born here, raised here (US), but her parent's are VERY traditional. She gets anything below an A for a grade and she gets grounded for a week. I mean, she even got grounded for getting a piercing. She pierced her EARS (for HOMECOMING, she wanted to wear earrings), and she got grounded for TWO MONTHS. Keep in mind, she's EIGHTEEN. LEGALLY an adult, and can sign for said piercing herself. But since she lives in their house, they get to be pissy squares.

Oh yeah, I've talked to my Asian housemate about that. She's totally uptight about her grades too, and the cycle continues. We all become our parents eventually. I enjoy my carefree lifestyle, but I can respect the drive they have
