im thinking of becoming a computer teacher for the high school area but the only thing is the pay sucks and i dont know if i could make it on a teachers salary. I want to become a teacher because of my old computer teacher who always helped anyone even if it didnt involve school, unfortunately he passed away a couple years ago so i keep thinking Maybe i can impact peoples lives like he did in the same way.

I would say that if you think you'd enjoy that profession, go for it. As far as the pay, the good thing is that most high schools end between 2 and 3 PM so you could do something else afterward to make some extra money. Tutoring is a great business, so you could get some additional pay doing that after school.

I think that would be a good idea. I wish there was a teacher at school I could talk to about anything, lord know that most of us don't have anyone else to talk to.

It must be possible to live off a teachers salary surely? otherwise there would be strikes. Personally, i think its more important to give something back than to get rich, but im aware that Americans do have a different outlook to most Britons. Isn't there anywhere else apart from an internet forum where you can get advice from?
